The
County Council is a representative body of the Green Party
of Alameda (GPAC) membership. Councilors are nominated,
elected and serve in accordance with applicable county and
state laws, and the bylaws
of the GPAC (download
a printable PDF version of the bylaws).
The new county council was sworn in by County
Registrar of Voters Brad Clark (holding paper) prior to
its meeting at Grassroots House, Berkeley, April 14, 2002.

The
County Council meeting is the place where Green citizens
can come to learn the latest about what is happening with
the Green Party in our county and also participate in the
process. Meetings, convened in the spirit of Grassroots
Democracy, are held the second Sunday of each month.
Before each meeting the
County Council hosts Green
Sunday, a place for Alameda County
Greens to touch base with their party and get to know other
Greens. Come and socialize with Greens (snacks and beverages
provided), hear guests speak on Green issues, and participate
in planning a Green future. Green Sunday is from 5:00 to
6:30pm.
