10 REASONS WHY NONVOTERS AND INDEPENDENTS SHOULD JOIN THE GREEN PARTY

1. MY VOTE DOESN’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE.

Consider that in the last presidential election Bush was elected by less than 15% of the potential voters. This means that each person voting is in fact voting for up to seven other people. If you don’t use your vote others will. Can you be sure those others will vote the way you want them to? Will they represent your interests? The GREEN PARTY is structured to insure that the middle class bulwark of the country will be represented. Your Registering in the GREEN PARTY now will tell the powers of the Democratic and Republican parties that your tired of their games. Believe that after you've forgotten about 2000.

2. BOTH OF THE CANDIDATES ARE FLAKES.

There are not just two candidates, one from each of the major parties. There are other parties. Most of them tend to represent special interests and groups that you are not interested in or you would have joined them, years ago. This is one of the major reasons for GOOD AMERICANS to foster a third party that has strength to insure that the needs of —middle class(all?) Americans will be represented; that ignorance, stupidity and the plain avarice of the candidates of the major parties can be offset by elected officials who care about the country at large not just the big bucks contributors. When money is the mothers milk of politics the failure and collapse of good government and law is not far behind. The GREEN PARTY is organized to prevent this and return us to good government.

3. MY VOTE WOULD BE WASTED IF I VOTED FOR / WERE REGISTERED IN A SMALL PARTY THAT CAN’T POSSIBLY WIN.

Your failure to vote will mean that you have voted for whoever is elected and have said that you will go along with whoever it is. If you register in the GREEN PARTY now you are just by doing so casting a vote for change from the auction block politics that are now the norm in Sacramento and Washington. You are telling the office holders of the majority parties that you disapprove of their actions and inactions, their greed and cronyism. When enough good citizens tell them this they will recognize that their phony election-year promises are no longer any good. Being GREEN casts a vote for clean government for all the people

4. THE ELECTIONS ARE STUPID GAMES AND I DON’T WANT TO DEMEAN MYSELF BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CHARADE.

GREEN PARTY decisions and positions are based on arriving at a consensus of all as has been the way of the GREEN Movement. Campaigns and issues are decided by serious study not by auctioning the decision to the highest bidding lobbyist. The California Party Platform now being written is being written with the input of all members and can reviewed and commented on by all members on ECONET 24 hrs. a day. The major parties sell you the finished product after the highest bidding lobbyists have won the day. If you then complain you are told the majority has decided. The majority is the biggest campaign contribution(s). Hoopla and phony promises have no place in this process and cannot survive the open discussions that go on. GREENS seek a new valid system not toothpaste ads. In Germany the Party for example has not allowed its elected officials to hold their offices for the full term but has had their alternates take over for the second half of their term. ( both are elected together). The purpose of this is to allow the least amount of personal aggrandizement and power seeking to go on. These new ways of protecting true democracy are needed unless we lose it to the money men and power brokers.

5. THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO.

When you vote for GREEN PARTY Candidates you are telling Democans that you will no longer buy their concepts of counting your vote before you cast it because of YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE. ( The concept of having balkanized and pre set the votes by the districts that people are living in and how they will vote, i.e. safe districts for the incumbent of whichever major party who runs unopposed or opposed by a sure fire looser of the other party who is only set up as a fall guy. e.g. Perez-Ferguson v. Lagomarsino.

6. I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES SO I WILL LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS TO SOLVE.

The "professionals" got us into the mess we are in , do you really think they know what is going on. This was the reason given by the voters of Germany that found it chic to sit on their hands and not dirty them in participating in politics. They stayed home and did not vote. They groused about the bad state of things at the bars. They did not act in 1935 to support those who would have allowed reason and logic to prevail. Millions and Millions of people were dead by the time World War II was over and the winner of that election was removed from office.

7. HOW CAN ANYONE FIGURE OUT THE RIGHT ANSWERS

Individually we may be wrong and we sometimes are on any particular issue. However, when the voters do their job and check on the elected officials and refuse to be led like sheep the country runs well. When the public falls for the gamesmanship of the officials and bureaucrats of the major parties, e.g. the "DRUG WAR" game; the searching for nonexistent bogeymen; the race baiting; The manufacturing of nonissues because they make money for the big boys' friends; the ignoring of the real problems of Health care, poverty, etc.. Remember, on the important issues the people have always done better than the "experts.

9. WHAT IF SOMEONE FIGURES OUT THAT I AM A GREEN?

Many are afraid of being odd balls or belonging to some fringe party or odd outfit. The Founding fathers and each of the major parties was in that bag once. When they were vital and active rather than tired old shadows of their former selves they too were very much the minority. They earned the respect of all and so did those who started it. The Bolsheviks (means" Majority")were under 5000 when they took over a country of 150,000,000. The American revolution was started by under 3% of the population. Without the work of these minorities we would not be here.

10. EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL AND THE WORLD IS AT PEACE. THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS.

You are truly in love with the status quo. You are one of the 10% of the people who can say this and have no problems. Therefore the GREEN PARTY thanks you for taking the time to read through this entire list to consider whether the Green Party is for you and wishes you well.
