Green Party Phone Bank Script

Tips

  • If voter's information has changed, please correct it on the list, so we can update our database. You can also note any comments, e.g., they moved away, changed names, don't ever call here again, etc.
  • If there is no number shown, or the one shown is wrong, please feel free to look it up in the book and correct it (and then call it) if you have time! We can add that to the database, and email, if they have it.
  • Please ask if they need other info, or a new voter reg. card to revise their info, or have other questions, and note this by their name on the list. I will be happy to call them if you are unable to answer any questions. Feel free to give my number out, if they prefer.
  • Please return all original lists to Beth when done! You can mail to my PO above, or call me to arrange pickup.

    Main Script

    1. "Hi, my name is _____. May I speak to ____?" (Ask for the person on list by name. Check list for two people at the same address/phone, so you won't have to call again!)

    2. ("I'm a Green Party member and) I'm calling Green Party voters in my neighborhood to encourage you to vote for Peter Van Zant for District 1 Supervisor. Peter has been endorsed again by the Nevada County Green Party."

    Some reasons:

  • If Peter wins 50% of the vote in the March 7th primary, he will win the office!
  • He won't have to rerun again in the general election in November.
  • Winning now will save his campaign a lot of time and money!
  • He has a good chance to win now, since his opponents will split the conservative vote.
  • Peter has an excellent record of supporting Green Party values and issues, including Wild & Scenic for the Yuba, habitat protection in the general plan update, and limiting growth to developments that are well-planned and beneficial to the community as a whole.

Extras (when they show interest and you have time!)

    3. "Would you like your email on a mailing list of coming events and community issues of interest to Greens?"

    4. "Would you like someone to call you about any others questions you may have?"

    5. Reminders: we meet each 2nd Monday at 7pm at the Community Room at the County Library; "GreenTV" is on cable Channel 11 weekly, M & Th; we're on the Web @ www.greens.org.

    6. ***If you get a real enthusiast, ask if they would like to volunteer, or contribute $ to the NCGP at the PO box above. Please note either!
