The Green Party of Los Angeles County will act to affect policies, laws, and activities on local, state, national and international levels, as a means to promoting positive change in society, in keeping with the Ten Key Values.

DISCUSSION/DECISION RE: ENDORSEMENT OF COUNTY BALLOT MEASURES - (25 min) Sponsors: Eugene Hernandez, Michael Feinstein, Michael McCue / Presenter: Michael Feinstein BYLAW-REQUIRED ACTION - Relevant Bylaw: Duties of the Council/ 5-2.10 Ballot Measures -Endorse or oppose ballot measures appearing on the ballot in Los Angeles County. (NOTE: 9-4.2(h) states 3/5 approval vote required for passage)

QUESTION:Shall our council support or oppose these LA county ballot measures?
i. Measure A: County of Los Angeles Appointed County Assessor
ii. Measure B: Los Angeles Porn Actors Required to Wear Condoms Act
iii. Measure J: Los Angeles County Sales Tax for Transportation

10)– FUNDING REQUEST FOR GREEN PARTY VOTER GUIDES
QUESTION:Shall our council fund the printing of 10,000 Green Party voter guides? (10 min) Printing cost for 10,000 1⁄2 page flyers on white paper = $300. Relevant Bylaw: Duties of the Council - 5-2.9(c) The Council’s responsibilities include: 5-2.9(d) Provide financial, volunteer and other support to endorsed candidates. Sponsors: Michael McCue

11) – LOCALS SUPPORT COMMITTEE ~ Gathering Reports from LA County Locals (25 min total: 5 min per local w/5 min for Q & A) Sponsors: Eugene Hernandez & Michael McCue - Relevant Bylaw: Section 5-2 Duties of the Council The Council's responsibilities include: 5-2.1 Party Building 5-2.1(b) Promote the development of Active Green Locals in Los Angeles County. 5-2.2 Recognize Active Green Locals, provide official recognition of Active Green Locals in Los Angeles County / Also see: Section 13-4 Review 13-4.1The County Council shall regularly review the status of Active Green Locals every two years, starting from the original date of recognition. Additional review may be scheduled upon a 2/3 vote of the Council. 13-4.2 Recognized Active Green Locals shall retain their status with a majority vote. The Council County may also agree to continued recognition, but only within changed boundaries.

12)– APPOINTMENTS TO COUNTY COUNCIL STANDING COMMITTEES
Coordinator’s Report on Committee Appointments – Confirmation of all volunteer appointments to our standing committees, and acceptance of volunteer Greens who wish to serve on our standing committees.
Background: At the first council meeting in July, the 5 standing committees were established, and Co-Chairs confirmed for the Tabling/Voter Registration Committee. At our 2nd meeting in September, there was a repeat announcement that GP members were invited to join our committees, which was also shared on the list-serve, but not yet posted to our web site. The results of this invitation action will be reported at this time. (20 min) Presenter: Michael McCue - Sponsor: E.B. Gendel

Locals Support Committee - Eugene Hernandez & Will Yeager serving as temp Co-Chairs, committee members needed.
Bylaws Committee – John Wenger & Dorothy Kemeny serving as temp Co-Chairs with E.B. Gendel, Alphonso Garcia, Will Yaeger and Mike Feinstein serving as committee members.
Fundraising Committee – Deacon Alexander & Anthony Viera, serving as temp Co-Chairs, with Committee members needed.
Media Committee – Co-Chairs and committee members needed.
Tabling/Voter Registration Committee – Kamran Ghasri & Michael McCue are confirmed Co-Chairs, Dorothy Kemeny, committee member, more committee members needed.

Section 10-1 Establishment, 10-1.1 The County Council may establish Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees. 10-1.2 A Standing Committee shall continue unless dissolved. An Ad Hoc Committee is established for finite, pre-defined period. 10-1.3 All Committees shall have a scope, purpose and mission statement approved by the Council, and shall have a County Council member approved as a liaison by the County Council, as part of its formation and approval.
