Green Party of California marks 20-year anniversary in Berkeley Saturday, says growing voter dissatisfaction justifies the party's relevance today more than ever before

GREEN PARTY OF CALIFORNIA PRESS RELEASE

BERKELEY (February 6, 2010) - Growing voter dissatisfaction with today's politicians justifies the Green Party of California's relevance even more than when it was founded in 1990, said party officials on the celebration of 20 years as the state's most progressive political party at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, site of the founding of the East Bay Green Alliance in 1985.

The Green Party marked the anniversary of the party's official founding in February 1990 by holding strategy sessions with current state, federal and local candidates and welcoming present and past Green elected officials. About 100 people were in attendance.

The Green Party combined a history session looking back on the party's 20 years since ballot status preceded by a party strategy session for 2010. Present and past Green elected officials and 2010 Green candidates for state legislature and state constitutional offices held a news conference.
